OccupationVoiceover Artist

Celia Drummond (26 December 1950–11 January 2021) was a British professional voice artist. She is the voice of various on-train and station announcements. Outside of her voice artist career, she was also a wedding celebrant in the south of France where she lived, and a member of multiple bands over her life.

Station announcements

Ditra

Celia was one of many voices on the Ditra announcement system. She was primarily used on new installations from the early 2000s, at stations such as Southampton Central, most major Thameslink-managed stations, and London Waterloo East.

Ditra's announcements system is no longer used on the UK railway network.

Amey and KeTech

Celia was one of many voices on the Amey and KeTech announcement systems. Both herself and Phil Sayer were widely used across the UK railway network until the early 2010s when these systems started being replaced.

Her voice is still in use on KeTech systems in use on both Chiltern Railways and Northern.

Rolling stock announcements

Mainline railway

Until 2023, Celia voiced all of South Western Railway's on-board announcements. As of March 2024, PIS systems on their rolling stock use a mixture of Celia's announcements and the newer Elinor Hamilton announcements, and are being converted to the latter.

London Underground

Celia Drummond is the main voice of the Northern Line, alongside Elinor Hamilton for new recordings (e.g., for the Elizabeth Line and Northern Line Extension).
